Is my motherboard dying?

A few monthes ago on Windows 7, my computer was getting several blue screens a week and it was related to a variety of things (summer heat overheating the gpu, audio errors?) and eventually after no solution I upgraded to windows 8.1 pro, which I had for a while but didn't want to install because I hate backing up and hate even more reconfiguring.

It has been about a month and a half since I have transitioned and the conditions seems to be slowly coming back. I got my first blue screen on Windows 8 this week after audio started skipping on a movie I was watching. I was multi-tasking like usual when this happened. More frequently now I am getting audio skipping or glitching and minor video glitching on videos. I write this after watching a youtube video where almost every 10 seconds i was getting glitched audio (like skipped sounds or loud reverbs of a current sound which then skips back to the present sound accompanied in the video by fps lag). I've been wondering for a while if this is a problem with my motherboard sound? Or my motherboard as a whole? is it time to start shopping for new parts? I have about a 2 year old motherboard. Sadly, I do not maintain my computer as well as I should. Bad cable management, rarely dusted interior, poor cooling until recently where I bought a new 200 mil for door ventilation.

My speakers are even older (around 4 years?) and they were pretty cheap, 60~ish. Only reason I dont suspect a problem with them is that I get the skipping whether I'm listening on my speakers or my razer headphones.
