My PC has a GA-880GA-UD3H mobo which can be connected to two monitors (HDMI + D-Sub or DVI + D-Sub). Currently I am using only one monitor via HDMI but I also want to connect my computer to my HDTV via either HDMI or DVI passing through a receiver. Is this possible by adding a video card ATI Radeon HD 5450? If so, that video card would output HD sound like Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD MA?

In other words I want a dual monitor setup (both monitors displaying 1080p) and one of the outputs capable of delivering HD sound (I have a blu-ray drive in my PC)...What do I need?

Your motherboard should support two monitors - if you connect your monitor via DVI you should be able to connect the TV via HDMI without adding an additional GPU. If you are running Windows Vista/7/8 - you will need another program to play Blu-ray discs on the TV. There may be some trial and error in configuration to get true Dolby HD and DTS.

Thanks ronintexas but according to the user manual of my motherboard, dual display is possible only with the following configurations:
HDMI + D-Sub or DVI + D-Sub

Can't you plug both into the graphics card?

I don't believe your going to get 1080i on both monitors but you can run DVI + HDMI on the HD 5450 and later version.

I run 2 1080p monitors off of the motherboard and an i5 2500k and a 1440p off of the CF 7950's

It's a AMD chipset board and you have to use D-sub.....so how are you going to get true Digital 1080p out of a D-sub? A HD 5450 will make it easier as it doesn't have those restrictions.
