Is there a cooler better than the Corsair 100i for the same price?

Solution
i have the corsair H110i and it is a complete POS, it is basically the bigger version of the H100i (140mm fans on the H110i vs 120mm fans on the H100i)

it is a total waste of time to install and almost no benefits when compared to cheaper air cooling solutions from noctua. the only reason i can imagine for using this junk is if you have RAM with REALLY tall heat sinks and don't have the space to mount a large heatsink on the CPU. the CPU still heats up to 65*C under full load and the fans make an annoying whine.

another problem that i'm having with the watercooler is that due to the absence of the CPU fan near the CPU socket (and therefor no air movement int hat general area) other components like the VRMs get way too hot with even...

Not really no. Unless you wanted to go with air cooling which is technically safer, but the 100i is pretty solid, a friend uses it and its cooler then air anyways. Your best bet is to go with the Corsair 100i, just make sure it will fit in your case.

just save yourself the headache and get a solid air cooling solution like the Noctua NH-D14
