Basically the title. I need a new one. Top contenders are R9 270 and 270x. Also, could someone please tell me the difference between 270x and 7870? Which one delivers what better and etc. And when you decide which one is the winner for you, please mention which supplier you preffer (Sapphire, gigabyte) and why (in cooling and price means) Thanks!

The 270X is a re-badged 7870 with a factory overclock essentially. Meaning the 270X will perform slightly better. If I were buying one I'd get a Sapphire, ASUS or XFX, depending on which has the best price. In my experiences these brands tend to have the best quality and often the best custom cooling solutions.

also,

Sapphire is probably the most recommended brand for AMD as it is by far the best. The R-series is basically a rebranding of the 7000 series with a few overclocks, etc.

Also,

The R9 280 retails around $210 I believe. Maybe you could go for that instead?

The R9 270 and 270X are basically an HD 7870 with faster memory, a higher base clock speed (270x) and boost technology added. Still Pitcairn chips though.

This R9 280 is a very good buy. Probably the strongest you'll find for less than $200.

It's not as good as others but it's not a BAD manufacturer by any means.

Just get the R9 280. I don't think there is really any 'bad' cards, just better ones. As long as you have a good cooling flow in your pc, you don't need to worry.
