As the title says, I'd like to know which RAM would be better for the Asus Maximus VII Formula motherboard and the Intel Core i7-4790k processor. Which clock speed would be the best in this case? Also, which do you prefer: G. Skill or Corsair?

What will you be doing with the rig, if strictly gaming 1866 is plenty since gaming primarily uses DRAM as a data conduit, if doing things like heavy mutitasking, Video, Imaging, CAD, VMs or the like might go faster 2133-2400 or even higher...2x4GB is entry level for gaming, I generally start at 16GB for new Haswell builds....I'd look to the Tridents from GSkill, depending on budget their Sniper line is my #2 choice

i bought two sets of 2x4GB kits of corsair vengeance RAM last November. 16GB in total. took 5 RAMs in total over 3 months to get a working batch of RAM. the replacement RAM was being dropped shipped by FedEx directly from their factory in China! so it wasn't like i was getting someone else's used memory. these were brand new sticks fresh off the assembly line.

and this isn't the first time. i bought Corsair laptop memory not too long ago and it too had to be RMAd. and i had a 450W gold rated Corsair PSU blow up while powering a lowly Dell Optiplex 3020 system.

in any case, i'm never buying corsair junk ever again.
