For some reason, when I turn on my laptop, while a few feet away from my desktop in sleep mode, the desktop comes out of sleep mode. Could there be any easy explanation for this? I thought it was my skype at first, but I signed out on my laptop and the problem is still there.

i have a similar issue like his, but with my desktop, it turns back on at random intervals, also it sometimes stays in sleep mode...
