I currently have a pair of Logitech G230's, and I like them, but they're broken and old. The mic on it is broken and it has to be taped/glued. Plus the mic sits in my peripheral vision and bothers me to no end.

Anyway, I'm looking for a good gaming headset. I regularly game/listen to music or watch Twitch/YouTube and I have a couple ideas right now.

I really want a headset with a retractable/removable microphone with decent sound, doesn't have to be top quality, cups that cover the ear, not just sit on top of them, as well as comfortable wear since I'll have them on for hours at a time.

Right now I'm looking at two in particular:

Which of these two do you think I'd prefer more? I also appreciate any recommendations, but please don't comment if you haven't actually used the headset in question.

Thanks in advance :)

I would suggest the Siberia V2, really comfortable, good sound quality, main problem is the mic sound quality, and even that isn't that bad. It's just an all around nice headset.

I'm not too worried about mic quality, as long as it's not super duper sensitive like a Turtle beach or super bad that you have to yell for it to pick up and it's decent at stay at my mouth.

Yeah, I just can't recommend getting a $100 desk mic if you're just going to be using a game's voice chat, so for 90% of people it's not a problem. The quality is probably better than most games will allow, anyway. This is a mic test for it, honestly not bad at all.

I may buy a desk mic once I get my full gaming PC up and I start streaming seriously, but until then a headset mic is fine with me

Oh yeah, if you're streaming it's good to have one.

I'd suggest looking for a refurbished one, you can save quite a bit and with headsets refurbished doesn't mean much for quality. http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-Full-Size-Gam... You can get the more expensive frost blue for cheaper than a normal one if you get refurb.
