Hey guys looking for a 800$ gaming PC. I'm ready to wait if there are any good hardwares releasing soon... Also i would like to overclock down the line.. I don't need a keyboard,monitor,mouse.. I will be reusing my monitor hp w1907. Please help guys..

You can. But if you are just gaming 8gb should be enough. Keep in mind your system only uses as much ram as it needs. All the extra ram that it has will not be used at all. Thus being a complete waste.
 
Hey there. Sure you can use 1x8GB RAM without any issue. Much of the hype that has been created over dual channel and quad channel is like I said is hype :) For years I've used 1x8GB and even 1x16GB without any performance degrade. In Gaming it hardly matters but in desktop apps it would matter.

Anyhow, you can stick with 1x8GB or 2x4GB but 2x8GB is merely overkill for your requirement. Rest it is your pocket, your choice.
