Hey guys i am currently starting my pc build. I would like to go with AMD as i have had good success with it, I already purchased the Asus R9 280x 3gb TOP. Its a beast of card and i am torn with getting the FX-8350 or saving some money and getting the FX-8320 or even lower. I will be using 8gb of ram DDR3 1866mhz. So my main question is this, in order to get my pc up and running due to cost wise can i get the 8320 and be ok or am i looking at bottleneck issues?? deff dont want that and havent found much on it thanks.

Solution
FX 8320 will match the FX 8350 with ease. Just go into bios, find the setting for the CPU multiplier, and set it to 20. Do not touch anything else. Your motherboard manual will state where the settings are for you.

I have the same set up. 8320 but with a r9 270x 4gb. It will not be a bottle neck. The CPU is plenty fast, however this is my first PC I built.

If you want to overclock just get the 8320. If you don't get the 8350 and leave it alone.

My set up isnt overclocked despite my original plans to do so. It just doesn't need to be OC'ed for what I use it for.

I would suggest maybe instead getting the FX-8320E, it runs at about the same speed as the others but with a much lower voltage, power consumption, and heat. The reason for this is because if you ever overclock it will likely have more headroom since its at a lower power usage to start, and if you don't the lower power and lower heat are just nice perks that can help if you overclock the GPU instead.
