My specs are amd a8 5600k
Asrock fm2a55dgs and 6 gb ram
I just put in a evga 500w psu and a gtx 560 ti which I just bought.
However when I put my dvi cable in the gpu and no signal then I took the gpu out completely and Attached the dvi cable to the motherboard port and it works fine. Can someone tell me what im doing wrong

you have to disable the integrated graphics to get a display through your card you can do that from BIOS.

On my system which also has an Asrock mobo, I had to go into BIOS Setup and change graphics adapter setting from "integrated" to "PCI Express". Then save & exit. My AMD card worked fine after that.

You mean how would you go about getting in to BIOS Setup?
It shows you how on the ASRock splash-screen which I reckon you must see several times a week!

On mine it says "Press F2 for Setup"

You must press the designated key before that splash-screen disappears.
