So the question is given.

The difference in price is like 10$, (because the i7 is OEM).

I mainly want to use it for gaming only. I don't want to overclock, just using the Turbo mode, which means i don't need K version. Which one is more futureproof, ( i know hyperthreading is not a thing atm ).

Getting an ASRock H97M Pro4 as a mobo, (got Silencio 352, so i need mATX and i found this best)

Also i want to mention again, the difference is only 10$, got Hyper T4 for cooling.

Thanks guys.

Solution

Only get devils canyon if you can get the i7 4790K for the same deal. Since the i7 haswell will still beat the i5 4690K even overclocked a little.
Neither, if you aren't overclocking look for a Xeon E3-1230 or a Xeon E3-1231. They offer pretty much the same performance as an i7 for the cost of an i5.

It has Hyper-threading which is extremely helpful for increasing performance now, and will help the system last longer. It makes a huge difference.

Are the components will be okay? (i only used AMD builds before)

Mobo: ASRock H97M PRO4
CPU: Intel i7 4770 3.4GHz
RAM: Kingston HyperX 2x4Gb 1600 MHz (khx1600c9d3/4g)
VGA: MSI R7850 2GD5 ( will be improved later to a R9 280x )
PSU: Corsair CX 430 ( will be improved with the VGA )
Case: Cooler Master Silencio 352
SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 500GB

Also i want to ask something else ( i know i should get a new PSU for that ). What about the devil's canyon series, i mean the i5 4690k, with ASRock Z97M PRO4, with slight OC, since my case is NOT that good, and i don't want to invest in Water Cooling. Is that a new architecture or something like that?

i5 4690k - 242$
