Im not really good at cpu, so i would like to ask your opinions.
So i have my cpu spec listed:
- i5 3470 processor
- 4gb of ram 1333 ddr3
- hdd seagate 1tb
- psu 700w
- mobo gigabyte ga-z77m-d3h
- vga da nv gt440 2gb/128bit ddr3

Currently im playing final fantasy xiv online, its a 3d game mmorpg. Running at least 40-50fps in 1080p max settings. So i decided to upgrade my vga card to have 50-60fps at max setting, or at least medium setting would run 60fps.

I ran to the computer store and asked their staff to help me upgrade my vga card, but their knowledge about graphic card are not really good. so i just bought a new graphic card and a new mobo gigabyte (i dunno if my old mobo could support the newly bought vga card or not, so i bought new mobo, still need to be tested by them) the items i bought:
- vga da nv gtx760 palit 2gb/256bit ddr5
- mobo gigabyte ga-p61a-d3

These items still need to be tested by them, havent got news from them yet..

Many questions i wanted to ask, does this meet the requirements for getting 50-60fps at medium/high setting in ffxiv game? Is my new vga card supported/not for my both mobo, either ga-z77m-d3h or ga-p61a-d3? Is it neccesarily to upgrade my ram to 8gb? Do i need to upgrade my processor to i7? If yes, which i7 is recommended for my cpu spec?

Any answers are appreciated, apologize about my language, english is not my first language, because i live in asia.

Thank you

Here are your answers:

1, CPU: that i5 is plenty for what your doing, so an upgrade isn't necessary.
2, MOBO: Mobo isn't needed either, just use the one you have.
3, GPU: The GTX 760 should get a lot higher fps than 60 MAXed out so that will meet your needs.
4, RAM: 4GB isn't much for gaming, so yes upgrade that to 8GB so you don't have a memory bottleneck.
You will get an excellent framerate with the new card you have purchased.

Your new Motherboard will also guarantee your system is future-proofed well. You will be able to add many upgrades to that motherboard over time, if you choose to do so.

You may want to consider RAM or CPU upgrades later in time, though that's only if you switch to different games. Your current setup should run FFXIV absolutely fine.

Lastly, you write English very well. :)

that new mobo is actually an old sandy-b board. just stick with your old mobo that is actually new..er? ish? ivy-b-ish? and pick another stick of 4gb ram (of the same brand so it will look cool) and this time make sure to enable the xmp profile of the damn sticks on your bios so you won't be stuck at the default 1333mhz speed (but whatever it doesn't really matter in gaming anyways)

Appreciated with your answers, after reading all of your answers and considering, its best that i wanted to share another post that i created about motherboards. Here's the link:

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2300564/z77m-d3h-p61a.html

with my long story and explanation of my condition. I'll later buy 4gb of ram, 4x2 goes to 8gb of ram supposedly will have enough memory to support the high end VGA spec. Another more answer is always welcome here. Still need to look into it.

Solved from the motherboard thread section, ended up with new mobo because the IT technician doesn't really good at upgrading my old mobo, so i sold my old mobo to my friend and now I got new mobo with GTX 760 finally and bought another 4GB of ram which is really needed for gaming. Plays 60 fps with high settings now, lovely!

I'm sorry that I can't pick two or three solved button here, it only allowed one choice. But thanks for all your contribution that posted here. :D
