I have an issue with my CPU the front light( or hard disk light) constantly stays on and my system has become really slow. This has only happened 3 days ago and I am not sure what is causing it.In normal time it takes 5 min to from starting the computer to the desktop but now it takes almost an hour to reach the desktop, but its doesn't end there, every time i open something it takes around 10 min to open it, and its frustrating.
I have a SATA drive (250gig).
I have checked for virus with malwarebytes and bitdefender 2015 and they didn't find anything.
i have also run windows in safe mode it loads faster but still slow as compared to normal start
Any ideas?

Solution
Open windows task manager(alt+cntl+del) and look at the performance monitor.
You can display apps sorted by cpu usage. Look for something with high cpu usage.
Possibly some other resource like insufficient ram that is causing demand page faults and high hard drive page file accesses.

It is possible that some other device such as the hard drive is an issue. 250gb sounds like a old hard drive that might be doing bad sector chaining. If the hard drive is an issue, I strongly urge you to clone to a SSD.
Samsung EVO is about the best.
