Currently I've decided to rearrange my whole PC setup, and I want to move my desktop to the other side of the house, away from the router. I want to leave the router where it is and have another Ethernet connection at the other side of the house. I would simply just use a wireless adapter if my motherboard had a PCI slot in it, but also the signal strength is very weak. So, my question to the community is, what are my options to be able to have my desktop on the other end of the house and be able to connect it to the network with Ethernet? Thanks!

Best option is to run a ethernet cable. After that you really only have 2 options for a wired connection. MoCA that would require you had a coax tv cable in both locations or powerline that uses the electrical power to connect the locations. Moca generally works pretty good if you have the cable, powerline is a little more hit and miss. Some houses it just refuses to work in. It is a radio signal sent over the power so the speed you get depends how much interference it gets. Almost impossible to predict but it does work in most houses.

It would be over 50 feet, through many rooms and hallways.
