So I'm looking to purchase a pair of headphones for listening to music. I will spend at an absolute maximum about $170. I want them to have good build quality and to be fairly portable (so I can take them around and use them with my laptop). I want them to either not have a mic, or to have a removable one.

The two headphones I am currently looking at are the Audio Technica ATH M50x which seem amazing, albeit fairly expensive, and the Kingston HyperX Cloud Gaming Headset which seem pretty good, but I'm unsure how they match up compared to proper audiophile headphones in their price range.

Any suggestions of other good quality headphones would be greatly appreciated.
Also, being able to purchase them from Future Shop Canada is a big plus as I have some gift cards.

I currently have Bose ae2 headphones and they are great. I picked them up for about $150. Otherwise the Audio Technica ATH-M50x are great but if you want to save $40 you can get the ATH-M50's I believe the only difference is no detachable cable although i might be wrong. http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50-Profession...
