Building New X99 platform, I have been researching for a while but would appreciate input. This is my second build.

CPU- i7 5820k
MOBO- ASrock X99 Killer
RAM- DDR4 16GB G.SKILL 2666MHZ
GPU- XFX R9 295x2
PSU- Rosewill 1300w lightning
CASE- Rosewill Black Window Throne full ATX
SSD- Plextor 128GB M.2
HDD- WD Black 1 TB
COOLER- H100 Crossair
OS- Win 8.1

Will be using the 27inch Yamakasi Catleap 1440p 120Hz IPS.

I am still undecided on just going for the 5930k CPU just because I am already spending
so much on the build anyways.

I'm doing gaming, and using photo editing tools mostly as I do photography. I also do programming but I dont think that really plays a factor here.

Ive been looking into other uses for this build as well. I would say as much as I love gaming it's not primarily for that.

My budget is 4k max.

Also a lot of it comes down to I have extra money and really wanted to build a super rig lol.

Also is the H100 a good Cooler? Ive heard of people having it leak and destroy their rig... I would die.

For gaming, few games will use more than 2-3 cores. 6 cores is not that helpful.
And... to meet thermal requirements, each core can not be overclocked as high as a i7-4790K.
A Z97 motherboard will be cheaper too.

128gb will fill up quickly for a "C" drive.
I think it is a bit premature to shop for m.2 drives. You get faster max sequential transfer rates if the motherboard permits. But it is the random service time that makes a ssd fast.

I think I would look at a 240gb Samsung 850 instead.

I have become a bit jaded on the subject of haswell cooling for overclocking.
How high you can OC is firstly determined by your luck in the bin lottery.
I had high expectations from the Devil's canyon parts and their better thermals.
I found out that the thermals really do not matter unless, perhaps, you are a competitive overclocker.
Haswell runs quite cool, that is, until you raise the voltage past 1.25v or so.
Once you go past 1.3v, then you really do need very good cooling to keep stress loads under say 85c.
But, voltages higher than 1.30 are not a good thing for 24/7 usage.
Even if you can handle the heat, how much do you really need that extra multiplier from say 4.4 to 4.6?
My thought is that it is better to use the exotic cooling funds for a quieter and less expensive air cooler.
Anything extra can go to a stronger graphics card for the gamer or a SSD.

This is your maximum you can get.
But 2 R9 295X2 is way to much.

I suggest you to look at this one and save some money.
Or take this one and build up a watercooling system inside. I dont know how, ask someone pro with water cooling systems :)
