He guys,

I recently purchased crysis 3 and the gpu r9 290. Sad to say, i was expecting to hit at least 40 fps average with this card and my r9 290. Somehow, however, i'm not seeing a higher fps then 30/31 ( it does get to 60, whenever i'm standing still watching a wall). My question, since my CPU is running stock @ 3.4 ghz, will overclocking it to around 3.8-4.0 increase my FPS for crysis 3, since i think i read somewhere that it's a pretty cpu intensive game. If so, is there a aftermarket fan you guys can recommend me for my cpu?

(crysis 3 everything on very high, antialiasing fxaa, anisotrohphic filtering 8x)

Absolutely it will,Crysis 3 is one game that really loves cores,an i7 is perfect for that game.Benchmarks have shown a 4670k at 4.6ghz,still dropped below 60fps a few times,i run 4.4ghz on my 4670k,in bf4 at 4ghz,i was getting slight bottleneck with all on ultra,no aa 1080p,and it was the cpu not gpu.4.2ghz took care of it pretty much, but i went to 4.4ghz just to make sure lol.I know this is a late response, but thought i would help if i could.Good luck.
