I recently bought this new rig, http://prntscr.com/4n7rou with a XFX 750W Modular Black Edition PSU and when i'm playing games the pc randomly black screens and restarts. The temperatures don't seem to be the problem as i've configured the fan automatic curve and it's always around 70ºC. Can someone tell me what might the problem be?

Well, if it's not a temperature problem, it shouldn't be a PSU problem either. When you say 70° C, what part does that correlate to? The Cpu or Gpu?

GPU, does the CPU have anything to do to what's happening?

Check the temperature on the Cpu as well while running prime95 using "open hardware monitor".

I don't know what prime95 is, but i am checking out the temperature via the ASUS ROG Menu, though i doubt it is the cpu since i have a powerful cooler, a thermalright macho

From what i am seeing the CPU doesnt change much, it bounces from 38 to 40ºC

If the cooler isn't attached properly you could be getting bad temps. You'll want to run prime95 with the temp. monitoring program running otherwise if you are just looking at it in game, the cpu isn't actively "working", so no actual load. Just download and run prime95, 'cause it's a good tool to have when you decided to overclock that Cpu.

Could you guide me through the steps of how to use this piece of software? I am bit lost.

i went ahead and ran these torture tests on blend 1 for each thread, not sure if thats what you wanted. I've been monitoring the temperature and max it got was 60 and it was only very briefly. As i said this is unlikely a cpu problem

Ok, that should be fine then. Well, that brand and wattage of Psu should be just fine, that's why I wouldn't immediately suspect that. Is the game doing that are a particular point, or randomly?

I've tried with 2 games, Guild Wars and The Secret World, in both games that has happened randomly. but always in a short amount of time

So it's not blue screening, just plain resetting huh? Sounds like either a power or heat issue. Is this a brand new build or an upgrade? I'd want to wipe the HDD and start over with a fresh install of everything to rule out an odd driver issue, but if it's an upgrade that becomes far more troublesome. Other than that, I'd try and RMA the Psu. I wouldn't worry about getting a more powerful one, because that is plenty of wattage for that build, and Xfx makes some of the best Psu's out there(well, their name is on them at least, they don't actually make them).
