Hi, I need help choosing what graphics card to purchase between the EVGA GTX 770 2GB superclocked or the ASUS R9 280x 3GB. They both seem to have their pros and cons and are pretty much the same price...

My build is primarily for gaming.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Do an Eeny, meeny, miny, moe. Some people prefer the one, some the other. They're about the same, maybe the 770 is slightly faster overall but usually also a bit more expensive.
There's also new cards coming out from Nvidia this or next week, so expect the prices of these older cards to drop a bit (although probably not much).

Id probably buy a Gigabyte for the best cooler available , and choose whichever was the best price

From my suppliers the two cards are no more then $5 apart, I know the nvidia cards are giving away watchdogs or something but not to fussed about that. I have heard that nvidia have better drivers, is that true? I know that EVGA costs less then the other brands, not sure why though because it seems to preform slightly higher?

I prefer the NVidia variant.
Cooler, quieter, more room for overclocking.
But if those things are of no concern and you just want some gaming power for the bang bucks, AMD is good.
I cant stand heat or noise, maybe I have more sensitivity than anyone else, so I just pay the extra 100 bucks for silence.
