How are Fractal Design's power supplies?

Fractal Design builds awesome cases, very decent fans,..... and that's where the list about stops. Unfortunately their psu's are not that good, because they don't actually build them. FD psus are built by FSP group and ATNG, both of which build lower tier units. In general. That specific unit is not too shabby, but there are better units for less.

Best 1000w unit on the market.

Try wiki for an explanation on the 80+ ratings. The difference between platinum and gold is not really worth any consideration.

That's $3 more expensive and isn't even 80+ Platinum efficiency, how is that better? Also, you didn't even answer my question.

The Fractal Design unit is actually quite well reviewed, it delivered excellent performance and did quite well for performance so its not a bad buy

The EVGA superNova did better in its review though, it mostly got dinged for not being a good value but as the PCpartpicker link shows that has changed, so with the EVGA SuperNOVA 1000W coming in cheaper than the Fractal Design it is definitely what i would pick
