My memory is 1600Mhz but my BIOS says it is 800MHz, what do i do to make it 1600MHz?

I know that i go into BIOS and set it from 800MHz to 1600MHz but is it really that simple, do i need to mess around with the voltage and add more voltage to it also? Can someone please tell me what i should do to correctly set up my RAM the way it is intended to run?

You need to set the clock to 1600mhz and probably adjust the timings too if they aren't to spec(9-9-9-24-2n for this set). It's basically plugging in the values that certain motherboards don't detect correctly. The voltage should be at 1.5v. Hope this helps.

So what are the main things i should change on it? Just the Voltage, timing and speed?

don't touch anything.

Yes, but only if it's the effective speed. Some motherboards list different effective speed selections in their ram options. The other posts are also correct, but every board is different in what it displays in the BIOS.
