Hi everyone!

I recently bought a Samsung SSD 840 EVO (250GB) and I would like to perform a clean install. However the problem is I cannot find my Windows 7 disc to save my life. Luckily one of my friends who has an unused Windows 7 disc is willing to hand it over so I can perform the clean install onto SSD.

My question is am I able to install Windows 7 again even though it is through a different CD with a different key, and will there be any conflicting problems between the Windows 7 installed on my harddrive (which I plan to wipe) and the Windows 7 that I will be installing on my SSD?

Thanks for the help!

You can install from any Windows 7 DVD that is the same version(I would guess you had an OEM one) without issues. It will ask you for the COA number and you just need to use the one from your current system.

You can also download an ISO to burn your own if you wish.

Sorry I forgot to add that in. Yes, the Windows 7 edition I have and my friend has are both Ultimate.

Also what is wrong with using the key on the disc he owns?

Oh alright. However, the Windows 7 disc has not been used. My friend told me he has not used it since it was a spare for a computer but decided to just get Windows 8.

Your current system/motherboard already has a valid key? Why use a different one?

True, you do have a point. I guess I will just use my key.
