so ive been noticing my screen blacking out randomly for a quick second almost like it is trying to change the resolution or skipping a frame. I have a an ASUS proart monitor, hooked up via hdmi to a gtx 660. i have tried resitting the video card, updating drivers and changing the refresh rate. Also i am on a fresh install of windows

try a 3 party tools to check your power supply 12v output. if it drops below 12v the gpu will reset. if you can try the 660 in another pc see if the error in your pc or the video card.

Try to re tighten the GPU to the motherboard. Also check the cables of the monitor and tighten it.

If you have checked all the cables, this will probably end up into a hardware issue. Do you have any spare PSU that you can try your system with?

Chances are, it could be a PSU problem or a GPU problem. So you need to test your system using different PSU or GPU to verify if your system runs OK with different PSU or GPU. Considering your situation it is very hard to identify the source of the problem.

so your telling me the only way to figure out my problem is if i have spare parts laying around? surely there has to be another way

The only way to solve your problem is to identify the source of the problem first. We have to point out the source of the problem or else trouble shooting without knowing the problem is pointless. As you have mentioned above, you have tried updating drivers, checking cables, etc. so this will sort out to the hardware parts. ie CPU,GPU,PSU,MOBO.

What solutions do you have in mind?

well seeing as i dont have any power issues (from running the hardware monitor) always stays above 12v. ive also ran 3dmark benchmark tests and have no problem getting through those without a problem..
