After finding conflicting information on the compatibility of 1333Mhz DDR3 on my Toshiba Satellite A505-S6015, I went ahead and bought GSkill F3-1333C9D-8GSL DDR3-1333 PC3-10600/10666 4096GB x 2 CL9-9-9-24 SoDimm. Many sites, including GSkill, indicate the 1333Mhz module is compatible, however, Toshiba's site indicates only 1066Mhz.

Was I a fool to believe the 1333Mhz module is compatible or is there a way that I am not aware of to get it to work on my system (bios)?

Gratefully

Well, here is what I have gathered. Your processor supports a max ram speed of 1066, so you can not run 1333 MHz ram speed in that laptop, nor is there likely to be any way you can outside of a bios mod or something else relatively complex. However, the module is perfectly compatible, it will just run in 1066 mode.

Thx, GSkill sent me an email confirming that the cpu cannot do 1333Mhz but the chipset can. Since the module(s) should work, just at 1066Mhz, then maybe they are both bad or perhaps the Cas Latency or something else is off. Looks like I'll try to return them to GSkill, either way...bios mod sounds fun but prolly too difficult to nail down competent info.
