Hi All,
I have an older PC as per below that I would like to upgrade the Graphics Card on to continue playing Battlefield 4. The current card has been crashing lately (Directx failure) so some suggestions would be great.

Current system:
- Windows Vista™ Ultimate Version 6.0.6002
- Gigabyte Motherboard P35-DQ6 (http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleID=2118)
- Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.40GHz, 2400 Mhz, 4 Core(s) -
- RAM 4.00 GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275
- PSU 600w

I have been checking out the Gigabyte - GV-R726XOC-2GD at Scorptec and would love some advice if this would be worth the upgrade and if this is compatible with my MB.

Happy to pay between $100 - $150 (AUs) for new GPU.

Any suggestions welcome.

The best you can probably manage for that price point in terms of GPU would be a GTX 750TI. It'd be an improvement upon your GTX 270 and would use way less wattage. It shouldn't have any bottleneck issues, even with your C2Q CPU.

We're talking 4GB DDR2, so that kind of falls flat beneath bare minimum for gaming. I'd personally suggest allocating more funds for an overall hardware upgrade. Anything much better than a 750TI would become a problem with your CPU

The R7-260X is a worthwhile upgrade. It is 3 tiers above the GTX 275 as per Tom's gfx card hierarchy chart: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-7.html
That is their recommended minimum jump to make the purchase worth the cost; 3 tiers.

The R7-265 would be a better choice. Some folks here swear there is a problem with the 260X. I have no idea if that is really the case, but that is the rumor.
But if you go much higher in performance, you will have serious bottle neck issues with that old 2.4 GHz C2Q.

Good point!

I'd like the R7-265
