I want to mount my fans above my radiator at the top of the case in a pull configuration. Is there any danger in screwing the fans into the radiator, and then screwing the fans into the case? I'm worried about the fan plastic supporting the weight. This is a 420mm XSPC radiator with Noctua fans.

Shouldn't be a problem if you screw them into actual screwholes. However, I might be wrong here but depending how the top of your case looks like (usually metal with lots of holes in it), I'd worry about pull effect that should apply to your radiator. This case roof will most likely reduce the amount of open area there is between your pull fans and the radiator. I'd would more likely have the fans hugging the radiator without any disturbance between them and then let the warm air exhaust whichever way it wants out of the case. The exhaution of the warm air should get out without any problems and is nothing to worry about. But having the case roof between your radiator and fans will most likely affect how much air you can pull from the radiator.

I'd be happy to get proven wrong by someone but thats just my theory. You rarely see anyone mount their H80i on the back of the case with a fan on the outside, because the radiator covers a bigger area than the holes does. With a fan behind the radiator that is basically the same size as the hole part of the case, it sucks the air that would hit the "wall" and pushes it through the fan which blows through the opening of the same size.

Same rule with apply for you. Think about how much area your radiator covers. If fans are pushing below the radiator, and fans pulling above the case, the "airpath" won't compress in time before hitting the closed areas. But if the fans are on the inside, the fans have already adjusted the airpath to blow out as a "cylinder" through thw openings.

Im sorry for the shitty explanation but I would draw if I could but right now im on my cell and english is my second language.

Wait for someone elses input before trusting me completely.
