help, on either 7850 CF or R9 280X

As of right now I own a 7850 OC'ed from MSI

I am wondering if I should either purchase another 7850 and CF them. (I know that there are some issues w/CF and i don't mind that at all)
I have a 600w PSU and if i went with the CF I would want a new PSU as well.. The total cost would be about $220 USD for what i am looking at.

I just want another opinion if I should go for the CF or if i should get a new R9 280x for $280 USD?
Their performance is really close together as it is.

I will also be upgrading to a 32' 1440p monitor in about 3 months time.
So let me know what you think

I am also pondering the same thing. I have a 7850 OC from gigabyte. Sorry not adding any opinions but I would like to see what you end up doing.

A 280x would run a bit better than 2 x 7850's crossfired. The 280x would cost $280 less what you could sell your 7850 for - say $200. That's the way I'd go.

After benching both of them ( i used the 1 GB version) the 7850's were actually just barely stronger @ 1080P Crysis 2 full settings. w/o AA Im sure if you added AA the 7970 would likely walk it unless you had the 2 GB version.

hmm... its tempting but I think I will hold on to the 7850 to put in my secondary PC. It would be great to sell if for $200 though (picked it up for 135 after taxes and shipping) hahaha

No - I meant you could sell it for 80, then it'd cost you 200 to trade up to a 280x

lol, they go used on amazon for $140 (depending on card model) lol and ebay, i havent seen lower then 120 at minimal (for a non-sketch seller) lol, any other place is higher even for refurbished ones, if you can find one that works great for $80 that would be amazing, i would buy that on the spot, no joke.

I still wouldnt sell it for any less then $120 and if i did that it would only be to a close friend, who is willing to buy.
