As title states. Computer reboots when playing games, can surf web pages fine without any problems. The computer was working fine until i replaced the mobo with a new one and a new cpu cooler. I have checked the temps for gpu and cpu and they seem fine.
SPECS:
gtx 670
i5 2500k
GA-Z68XP-UD3 mobo
2 x 1tb* (only 1 connected)
16gb ddr3 1600mhz corsair vengeance (only 2 connected)
thermaltake 600W psu
windows 7
Event ID 41 in event viewer
Im getting no errors at all and the problem happens everytime i try to play games.
Rust, and CS:GO
.

The cpu is getting to hot. And bios is set to restart automatically on failure.

Put the cooler on properly. Make sure that fan's running OK.

Did you reinstall windows? Sounds like its crashing. Disable auto-restart. If it brings up a stop error tell us what it says

auto restart disabled. So just play games and see what happens?

I disabled auto restart through advanced system settings, and the computer still restarted after about 10 seconds in game

So it restarted but it wasnt a stop error or crash? I would look in event viewer under windows logs / system (type eventvwr.msc under run).

Look for any errors / bugcheck entries about the time it restarted

Did you install Easytune on this?? If you did, uninstall it. This can cause probs, and it can also cause this eventid 41 error.

Daemontools isn't installed on this is it?

I would recommend trying the other PSU. Not sure how it could be the PSU in your case, but the only time I've personally ever seen a PC reboot itself without any warning is when the issue was power related. I had a friend who had the same issue and I had him buy a new PSU (one more powerful) and it's been fine ever since.

In theory, I don't really understand how your PC would consume THAT much more power just by swapping the mobo and CPU cooler, unless you're overclocking on the new cooler that is. But just check your own PSU isn't something like 20A on two 12V rails as that would be crap and most likely the cause to your issue. Have a look at the specs of the 500W PSU. In my experience, you should really be aiming for at least 40A on a single 12V rail.

Well, let's recap over the issue. Your computer was fine until you swapped the mobo and CPU cooler. Then you start getting random reboots without warning.

You've formatted your OS drive and reinstalled Windows from fresh and the issue still hasn't been fixed. You've also uninstalled software you thought was the cause the the issue. These things alone rule out software to be the issue. The most likely cause is hardware related.

Now let's look at when the issue occured; after you made a change to your hardware configuration. I personally believe the issue is power related, but if easily obtaining a PSU is out of the question, let's work with what you DO have. Hopefully you still have your old mobo. Try putting your old mobo back in with the new CPU cooler and your current PSU and see how that goes.

IMO it's either going to be mobo related or PSU related or a combination of both. If the issue goes away after you put your old mobo back in it would suggest the issue is mobo related. To make sure after that stage, see if you can find someone with a spare PSU you can test with or sometimes small independent computer repair stores may have a workbench you can take your PC there and test with different components.

BTW, I'm not knocking your ability on PC building but just make sure everything is screwed in and connected correctly from when you changed your mobo as incorrect grounding could lead to power issues such as this.

Ok guys problem solved. Just needed a new psu. Whoever installed this pc had the psu fan facing down so I'm assuming it cooked itself overtime. Would like to thank everyone for their time spent helping me especially Paul NZ
