can i use a monitor with dvi ( also has a vga) to hook up to a all -in one Gateway's hdmi so i can use two monitors. Im running windows 7. Also Im trying to use a hdmi cable (both ends) and using a adapter to make one end dvi. Can this be done and if so how??? thanks in advance for any help here.

Yes, you can. Just by adapters for the suited ports.

I have a adapter for the hdmi cable to make it dvi. so from my hdmi on my all in one i have it connected to the 2nd monitor using the adapter(dvi) to make the other end of the hdmi cable fit my 2nd monitor but the monitor says check signal cable.. what all do i need to do to be able to make this work so i may have a second monitor,
