I'm wondering if the new GTX 980 would be faster or on par with my GTX 670s which are the 4GB models btw. I figured since the 980 is suppose to match the 780 ti then it should be stronger since the 780 ti is stronger then 2 gtx 670s right?

I'm just looking for something that is a little bit stronger then what I have.

I plan on waiting for the non-reference models to come out that have more ram so if I get a 2nd in the future I won't be capped on the 4GB vram limitations. And also so that way I might be able to handle OCs better.

No it doesn't sound like it will be worth it. You're setup is really as good as it gets with obvious exceptions.

Save your money, the 990 isn't supposed to be much better than the 780 and less than the 780ti. You must be in or around the same ballpark as the 780ti or better perhaps so save your money.... for now anyway.

Would you consider AMD? I wouldn't personally but hey the new gpu's 3xx are obviously going to be much stronger than the previous generation. I think this round NV is just cutting down power consumption. You have a sweet setup I say keep it until you can not max games.

My only problem is the frame drops I get in certain games. It's not a bad drop but enough to cause Micro Stutter due to SLI. And I have 0 headroom for OC since the cards right now already get into the 70s when gaming, and that is with a custom profile. I was hoping for a single card performance to what I currently have to help with micro stutter. I guess I will wait for the next series and see if they introduce the GM110 gpu.

Lets all hold off on the GPU purchases.
We dont know what the 980 does yet, since nothing is confirmed 100%.
We DO know once it's out, some GPU prices will go down.
Wait a little, and you'll have your answer.
