I just wanted to know if there is any persistent problems with the r9 290? I'm going to buy the MSI twin frozer edition R9 290 and wanted to know what I might expect out of the box?
399 could get you the 970.
Just hold off, and lets see what NVidia tosses.
Things blackscreen when the GPU gets too hot, or you use a Beta driver (rarely AMD releases faulty official ones)
No card is always problematic.
Unless you could the R9 290X's thermal constraint.
Since you're using an aftermarket cooler on that card, you should be able to run everything as wanted, unless its defective out of the box.
If you're planning on buying, hold off till sunday to see the 980 in action.
Alright, I've heard from other complaints about Youtube crashing and black screening. I've come to the conclusion that the black screening was because of the users power supply lacking amps on the 12v rail. Have the new AMD drivers solved anything important? I've already set my mind on the 290 but I am curious about the 980 benchmarks. 399$ is the maximum I'm doing, you know?
