So i got this Aceer aspire 4740G with a specs of
intel i5 core , 4gb ram , 500gb Of HDD and nvidia's 310M 515 MB Video card

so recently ... it got over heated .. so in my response to that i dont power it till 30 mins.

after 30 mins i powered it up but nothing happens.. i observe it.. the power indicator turned on but no fan , no Hdd spin , no display, then after 5 seconds. the power indicator turned off

so i remove the battery for an hour (3 hours) then put it back on then power it up and it work...

and just this september 15 (monday) it overheated again. then turned off.. i the last thing i did.. but this time it wont powered up....

any ideas what would happened and how can i re -power it again? sorry for my english btw

Take out the battery it might be overcharged. If you try to POWER ON without the battery and it works, then your battery is DOA. If it still won't power on then the PC is DOA and you should replace it (it is very old based on the specs and cost MORE to fix then to replace). That it overheated sounds like your not keeping it on a cooling pad (keeping vents open, having air blowing in), doing a once a month BLOW OUT with Canned air in the vents, or worst, the fans themselves have died. In any case still same result will keep happening so I would just say call it even and get another PC.
