So give me your thoughts on which is better. Here are the cards:
Radeon: gigabyte Radeon R9 285 OC, 2GB GDDR5 (256 Bit), HDMI, 2xDVI, DP or Sapphire Radeon R9 285, 2GB GDDR5 (256 Bit), HDMI, DL-DVI-I+DL-DVI-D, DP, LITE
GTX: MSI GeForce GTX 770 OC, 2GB DDR5 or Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770, 2GB DDR5 (256 Bit), HDMI, DP, DVI, BOX

not even close the CF will be right at a gtx 780 or a little better.

with this setup i would think about the r9 280 just because you will get the extra gig of GDDR , also the higher 386 bit memory interface

You think that the 280 is better than the 285?

I think they are identical cards until you decide to crossfire them. Then the higher memory interface and extra gig of ram push the r9 280 to first place. This would be even more true at 1440, 1600 and 4k resolutions. I run crossfire 7950's (same as r9 280) at 1440p at 120Hz and I need every last bit of that gddr5.

Oh I see would a GIGABYTE AMD/ATI RADEON R9 280 3GB GDDR5 be good enough of a card?

At 1080p the r9 280/285 or a gtx 770 are the best to be able to play at the highest settings in all games.

Out of those cards I would just get the cheapest card. I like the MSI twin frzr the best.

MSI has been really good and easy to work with for returns when needed for me. I like to buy used cards.

What? The R9 GPUs run games very nicely. Only the 270X, the 280 and the 280X are rebrands of high end GPUs that released only a couple of years ago. My 270X has absolutely no issues with Windows and I'm running 8.1 which is the latest version - an OS change if you want to say that. I can run any game at max settings with or without AA without an issue, except in certain games where overclocking it can cause crashes, which can happen on any graphics card. The R9 3xx series will be completely new graphics cards using stacked VRAM chips and will also use the 20nm architecture. There's nothing wrong with AMD GPU's, they're good value for dollar. At the moment, the GTX 970 and 980 are the best value for enthusiasts but that's to be expected as they are new.
