A z97 and i5 4590 is the way to go then.
Or an FX 8350 along with asus m5a99fx.
If you go with FX you will need to OC the CPU to get performance equivalent to an i5 or i7. For which you'll need an good aftermarket cooler which cost you 60-100$ more. But you can manage for that later on.
