OK so a couple of days ago I asked about some GPU's bla bla bla and my frind just gave me a gtx760 to sli with my current one (long story)
so I installed my card
setup the drivers
checked that they are both identified by GPU-z, device manager and nvidia panel
went to nvidia panel to sli
and no sli option is to be found
after online research (this is my first time doing my own SLI, it said to look under the 3d tab for sli options and none are found :/

Z87 Fatal1ty Killer mobo by ASROCK
i74770k
1 gpu is Palit gtx 760 2gb oc
2nd gpu is galaxy gtx 760 2gb

now i went to the shop and asked for a gpu bridge (as none of them came with one) and i picked a simple one up (earlier today)

plugged it in too, (i didnt forget this step)

now ive tried flippin' it, turnin' it usin' different ports
no sli option
all my parts are sli compatible and the psu is enough, but no sli option :/
help please!!
According to the internet its either a bad connector on one or both of the cards, or the bridge is Sh*t.
Which brings me to also ask; how do I know?
Thanks in advance!

Solution

OK So I just solved it;
Basically my port configuration was as the following:
1 PCI-1 - empty
2 PCI-16 Palit GTX 760
3 PCI-1 D-link internal wireless card
4 PCI-16 Galaxy GTX 760
5 PCI-16 (ithink, same length) Soundblaster card running on a massive slot

solution?
re-arranged and got this:
Turns out...
make sure your cards are in slot 2 and 5 since these will both run at 8x when a card is in them. also try swapping the cards around just to make sure they both work. after that I would pick up another sli bridge, make sure its a sli bridge and not a xfire one. xfire bridges are for amd card and not interchangeable.

they are in 2 and 5, and it is an sli bridge, but if there is a card in between, would it affect? (i have an internet card plugged in between the 2 in a pci1 slot)

im not sure if it will affect anything, would have to fully read the manual to see what it does. Is there a reason your not using the onboard network port? I would try and take the internet card out of the computer and see if that will allow you to sli the cards.

from what the manual says the add in card should not affect the pcie-16x lanes so you should be getting 8x for both cards since they are in the pcie-3.0 slots.

Ill try to see what happens, but in relation to your question, my internet is wireless, too far to drag a cable XD but yeah i was thinking of doing so

re-arranged and got this:
Turns out, the sound blaster was placed where an extra 3rd gpu can go, so the system did not detect.
so now:
1 D-link Internal wireless card
2 Palit GTX 760
3 Soundblaster ZX
4 Galaxy GTX 760
5 empty

Mustve been the pc trippin' over not detecting a GPU in a Proposed GPU port, thus ignoring the SLI Bridge
Hope this helps anyone who stumbles across the same problem :)
