Hi, I can either have an MSI gaming 7 or an asus maximus vii formula z97. Msi takes the edge having more usb ports and other things, but i've seen all experts use asus maximus mobos when they focus on overclocking and gaming. So what do u recommend? I will focus more on gaming than over clocking or if i get a good cooler.

Asus! Their ROG boards are the best.

Asus. No doubt about it. They're king in build quality and overclockability, while MSI's motherboards are often regarded as not particularly well-built.

Are you really going to use 10 USB ports at the same time though? Even if you are it shouldn't be a dealbreaker, you could just buy a powered USB Hub.
Not to mention that both boards have internal USB headers for front panel USB ports/5.25" USB expansions/etc.

If the focus is on overclocking, don't worry about USB ports.

ASUS ROG boards are pretty much creme de la creme. You're not going to find a better gaming/oc'ing motherboard.
