If you added just 2 more GB of RAM you could probably run it at 720 at a mediocre 30fps with these settings:

Model details: Medium

Texture Quality: Very high or High

Antrioscopic Filtering: Trilinear

Motion Blur: Off

Water: Reflect world

Antialiasing: Off

HDR: Off

Shadows: Medium

V-sync: off

Based on the minimum specs required you might be able to scrape it with what you have, I would run it on the lowest settings.

I recommend upgrading your ram until you get your new PC though, 2gbs is really scraping it and buying an extra stick is a cheap and easy fix to add just a little more capacity, presuming your mobo has 2 slots and you are currently running on 1 x 2gb RAM that is.

Good luck! ;)

Team Fortress 2 is the same engine that CS:GO and L4D2 are based on, and in fact those games may be more recent versions of the Source engine. You can probably expect similar results in TF2.

Source is pretty well-known for being easy on the hardware, so with some clever graphic settings (Dovah-chan's post) you should be okay.

L4D2 and CS:GO run on a bit more updated version of source: GO being the latest iteration of source. Tf2 is more akin to Half Life 2 or Gmod and is a great deal easier to run. I have a friend with an AIO PC with an ivy bridge celeron who can run tf2 at the highest settings on 1080p without antialiasing. You should do alright I guess: it will definitely be playable though. Tf2 is not a very hard game to run at all.
