have to WD products one is the N900 router and the other is an WD EX4 NAS.
i can see them as drives but not under the network tree. i can access the control panels with their IP address. i am able to access the files on the WD EX4 remotely from any were.
i have the WD EX4 as a home network and networking is turned on. i have disabled win firewall, i do not have any other anti virus software installed, both the router and sever say they are connected to the network and the internet. i nave rebooted and or reset both. i looked in the bios for any thing that may stop them from discovering did not see any thing.
did not have this problem when the WD EX4 was first brought online about one month ago.

OS: win 7 pro
MOB: as rock Z77 extreme 4
have tried all fixes with a cable connection and a wireless connection

Welcome to the community, simble23!

I'm sorry to hear about your issue with My Cloud EX4.
Can you make sure that you have the latest firmware update?
http://www.wdc.com/wdproducts/updates/?family=wdfmycloud_ex4
It will require you to unplug the power supply, and then re-plug it for the firmware to be effective.
If it still doesn't work, I'd suggest to check out this thread that might help you with some more troubleshooting steps:

Hope this helps you. :)

yes have current firmware
links were interesting but not sure i want to do all that. this NAS should not need such care. i am not a techy and don't want to be one any time soon. really thought i was buying plug play leave alone, instead i fell like i got a maintenance program.
thanks for your effort

I am truly sorry to hear about your issues with the My Cloud EX4.
I found something more non-technical that can help you. I think that you need to set a static IP for your EX4 to resolve the problem: http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/11384
If this still can't help you, I'd suggest to contact our tech support.
They can walk you through the detailed troubleshooting steps and might be more helpful: http://support.wdc.com/contact/contact.asp?lang=en

Let me know if you need any further assistance!
