500w is more than plenty.

Can you adjust the multiplier with that mobo? I know some H81/H87/etc. boards allow for G3258 overclocking, is this one of them? Just curious.

yup im already at 4.4 hoping that i got a good chip to be able to hit 4.7.

so i should be fine even if i pair it with a 265 or 270? im running 4.4 now with 1.3 volts. core 1 with 50w and im under prime 95. is it safe to assume that core 2 is also 50w and my processor is consuming 100w?

Awesome. After the Core2 CPUs came out I thought I'd never want a Pentium anymore but I find myself really wanting to shell out for a small secondary system with a G3258 just for fun :p

Yes you can pair it with a 265 or 270 just fine.
I'd think your CPU is even drawing a little less than that, something around 80-90w. You have plenty of headroom in your PSU though, so it doesn't matter that much. Software-based wattage readings are also notoriously unreliable.

haha yeah im really going to buy a 4690k. but out of curiousity i bought this one first to try its performance. wanna see if the hype for this one is worth it. hey i have another question.

I'm still using g3258's onboard graphics. im going to buy my discrete gpu next week.
is there any effect to my oc capabalities because im still using the onboard graphics?
i cant put a stable oc beyond 4.2. then i just copied reviews and oc guides exact volts and multipliers but i cant find a stable oc. i even tried putting more volts. is it because im using onboard graphics? or probably the chip i got isnt good? thanks!
