Hi

what voltage does the correct adapter produce?

what voltage does the wrong adapter produce?

are they both + on centre tip or different?
are they both DC or is one AC ?

Trying to find out if you burn out the USB to SATA bridge chip or the hard disk controller as well ?

or just corrupted the data on the hard disk
(only if very lucky or both power supplys produce similar voltage)

You should use something like Western Digital data life guard for windows to test the hard drive for damage before using a data recovery product.

(even if hard disk not WD brand, Seagate has a similar diagnostic product)
