So I'm very new to PC building and have recently bought all the parts for my first build except the monitor. My friend has offered me a very nice one with a broken HDMI so i will use a high quality SVGA to compensate. I was wondering, however, where the other end of the VGA cable goes. I can't see a port on my motherboard (ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0)
Am i right in thinking this and do I have to buy a different monitor,
Thanks

It doesn't look like ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 has a video adapter. Which video card are you using?

the motherboard does not have any video outputs. You would connect the monitor to the video card which plugs in to one of the 16x PCIe slots.

depending on your video card you might need a VGA to DVI converter like this.

I'd be surprised if the 770 didn't come with an adapter.
