Please help, as this seems to be a problem that I've had for a few months, which will force the computer or myself to restart it (at least 3 times) before it operates properly:

Solution
bugcheck 124 is called by the CPU, not a driver in windows. It is most often caused by incorrect voltages and clocks applied to the CPU.

so,
- make sure your CPU fans are working/spinning at full speed. blow the dust out of them
- make sure your BIOS is upto date, the BIOS sets the voltage and Clock frequency to apply to the CPU
- remove any overclocking in your BIOS and any overclocking software drivers.
if you do these and you continue to have problems you need to monitor your voltages coming from your power supply
or replace your power supply.

if you added a new video card, make sure your power supply has the proper power to supply the max current that the GPU might pull
or the GPU will take too much current from the...
