It's my first time building a computer and I followed the Newegg video on building a new pc. I've got everything connected but when I hit the power button, the fans intermittently spin, but nothing shows up on my screen. I don't have any speakers, so I can't tell if there is a beep.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I would pick up a motherboard speaker anyway just for future troubleshooting purposes, but refer back to your user guide and confirm that all of the cables are plugged in (and into the correct place) for myself my computer did not POST simply because I plugged the CPU fan into the chassis fan header. It could also be a problem with your VGA cable/monitor so make sure to confirm this as well.

I know exactly two resons why it won't boot. Obviously because you are not retarded, you plugged in all the power cables. Your two reasons are 1. Bad psu or motherboard (unlikely). 2. Your CMOS jumper cap is on the wrong two pins. This happened to me first build. Instructions on resetting the CMOS would be in your motherboard manual. Hope this helps.
