I'll play a game, BF4 or Even Minecraft and after maybe an hour the PC will just stop, both screens (1 Samsung 1080p & a Novatech 768p both @60Hz.) will go black, not a crash, the LED's and the fans will still be running as if the PC is still on.

PC;
FX6100 @3.7Ghz (Air)
MSI 760GM-P23
16GB RAM
GTX 650Ti (2GB)
Win7 64.

BF4 runs on Low/Medium 99% of the time where as Minecraft will happily sit at 120. I'm only asking because just now (~10 Mins) I booted MC to play whilst the Sims 2 (free on Origin) DL'ed, after around 1 Minute the system locked up again.

I'm planning to get an SSD, GPU & Motherboard at Christmas. I think it's graphical. All help is good help!

It maybe your mobo I'm afraid or a the GPU just can't handle it anymore because of thermal output.

Try and download HW monitor and see your GPU temps then report back.

I see the motherboard reviews shows it's plagued by problems................ those heat sinks on the motherboard should have some kind of "cool" breeze blowing across them........... agree with a heat issue....... board/gpu/cpu................. may need to be cleaned/maybe new paste/maybe adequate airflow..........

try this utility............ https://www.slimwareutilities.com/slimdrivers.php
might find some stuff that is useful........... it's free and it really works..................

when is the last time you were to windows updates?

what happens if you only run 1 monitor?

This is under idle load , what about full load.

Launch a game , play for five minutes and then see the temps. If it exceeds the 85-90 degree mark then most probably its the gpu that causes the system to shutdown in order not to be fried.

Otherwise it might be the mobo , MSI yet again.

not "all" msi mobo's suck so to speak. ( but agree ) but go look at the design of the board. not much cooling on the important stuff. it's a 2005 design.

Of course generalizing isn't a good thing , they just have higher failure rate than others.

No, I didn't. The amount of full stops you put in your post made it seem like a bot. I still don't want too, sorry.

It is really annoying and together with the sentences beginning with lower case looks like the sort of illiterate postings that should be ignored, strange then that you get upset when you suggestions are ignored.

my suggestions get ignored by people who are uncomfortable with trying my suggestions and/or are afraid of the hardware and think magic fingers will reach out and fix their machines over the internet.

nice thing for a moderator to say. thanks for your positive input. sure OP appreciates it too.

at least you could have mentioned with your expert advice is that it's probably heat related even though the charts he posted state otherwise. the suggestion of trying that app is to eliminate things most people never think of......... motherboard drivers especially, but any other odd, out of the ordinary drivers. it is especially handy when it comes to older boards.

sorry you don't like all those lower case letters at the beginning of my sentences. but this isn't school, you're not my teacher, and it shouldn't matter to anybody anyways. the important thing is trying to get OP to try and fix his machine so it runs right.............

This isn't school, if it were and was your teacher then your grammar would be better.

Use proper spelling and grammar, with paragraphs as needed. Posts that are easier to read are easier to respond to.

Go argue with our CM if you don't like your deliberate illiteracy being pointed out.
