Hey, I need some help.

I want too know why it keeps doing it and If so How can i make it from not happening.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670
AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor
Corsair Vengeance 16gb RAM
ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3

I need some help on why I get frame rate drops and if so how can I make it from not happening. Could I put an intel processor in my motherboard instead of having the AMD.

Online games transmit data between you (the client) and the other players constantly. It's something that never stops. So if it's a constant action that's updating their locations, actions, and effects then you're gonna take a hit in performance.

For example. Arma 3 runs great single player and with a couple othe people, but high population servers suffer because of the sheer amount of information being sent to and from the client.

Not the only reason, but one of the biggest for sure.

and you get cut down to a base low frame rate in the fairness of the game on that server so its like your $1000 120fps rig is cut back to my $500 60 fps rig so we can play on the same map

''steam and such is so great''-- not

Don't believe that's true, we can go back to the Arma 3 example. People get abysmal frames, but not the same frames. It's like saying a 300 dollar laptop gets the same frames in A3 as a 2k desktop. Just not true.

You may be thinking of V-sync which is usually enabled in games, but you can turn that off to get more frames anyway.

Once again, not true. Steam does not run most game servers. Those are hosted from providers, which are then ran from either businesses or clients. People certainly do have advantages, because it really depends on their rig and connection. If your point was true, then why does it take longer for someone to download something from across the country (lets say using the steam servers) rather than in their own state?

Your motherboard would not be able to fit an i7, as Intel and AMD have different socks types. If you want Intel, you need a new mobo
