CPU is stable at 4.4ghz with 1.280v (fixed voltage).

Thing is that it uses that voltage all the time , even when browsing on the internet.

When i try the adaptive , i can see in CPUZ that the voltage is low at normal use , so idle temps are great.

But when i stretch test with the same voltage i get BSOD.

ASROCK Z87 EXTREME6
I5 4670K

You can enable your C-states to allow the voltage to drop down when at idle, if that's your main goal.

That is exactly my main goal. Drop voltage when idle so temps will get 28 or low 30s with the new corsair h100i. Atm with fixed voltage at idle cpu temp is average of 37degrees @ 1.280v.

If you tell me how it would be great :)

In your motherboard BIOS under advanced CPU options (not sure exactly where it is on an ASROCK BIOS) there will be a setting for C-states. It should be "AUTO" by default, you need to manually set it to "ENABLE" and select the highest number C-state that you can (generally C7s) unless your PSU doesn't support it.

But if i enable them , does the cpu still run at highest performance during load and games ?

Yes it will. It will only throttle during extremely light loads or at idle.

I did that and idle temps were extremely good. But mouse pointer was freezing for a seconds or two when moving it and then again. Why ?

That, I'm not sure. You could always try just dropping into a higher C-state and see if that makes a difference (i.e. go to C7, then C6 as your lowest), it could be that your mouse may not like the low power.
