I built a new system a couple months ago (i7-4790k/GTX 780/Z87I-Deluxe) and when playing some games, ArcheAge most recently, there's some kind of buzzing/whining going on (heavy on the buzzing). There's only the CPU fan and the GTX 780, neither of which are causing it.

The odd thing is, when I'm in the game and I alt tab, it instantly goes away. If I even press 'ESC' to go into options, it stops. My best guess would be the audio, but that's onboard so I guess I'm out of luck if that's it.

I'm willing to replace parts if necessary to get rid of it.

It's likely coil whine from either the PSU or GPU. What PSU do you have?

It's a Corsair CX750M.

It was the PSU I guess. Plugged in a 3 year old TX650W and it went away. Thanks, shortstuff.
