Hey there all. I have saved up some money, and I am looking to build a PC for myself. Almost all of the uses will be for gaming. My Cap is pretty high, but this will include a new monitor, software, keyboard and mouse. My current build as it stands is:

Cooler Master HAF X - Case

Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

EVGA 03G-P4-2884-KR G-SYNC Support GeForce GTX 780 Ti Superclocked 3GB 384-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support w/EVGA

SeaSonic X Series X-850 (SS-850KM3 Active PFC F3) 850W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD ...

G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 series 16GB (4 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2666 (PC4-21300) Desktop Memory Model F4-2666C15Q-16GRR

ASUS X99-DELUXE LGA 2011-v3 Intel X99 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 140mm and 120mm SSO CPU Cooler

Crucial MX100 CT256MX100SSD1 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

I am very unsure of whether the ram is worth it. This total is $2,512.90. I will need the rest of the money for a monitor, and I might have to go a tad above 3k for keyboard and software. Any input would be appreciated. Whether the parts will work great, if power supply is enough.

Get 8gb of RAM, cpu is overkill, x99 are for workstations, get a i7 4790k, and a z97 board, wait for 900 series to be out so that either you get the 980 or the 780ti prices will drop, either way, you would want a sli or crossfire for a 3k build

Yeah just wait a week or 2 for the 900 series release to affect things and see if the new cards interest you. And yeah for now get 8 and leave the other slots open for another 8 down the road when the prices drop/you can better afford it.
