I've just noticed these being sold on the scan website for £385.

Like everyone else, I'm desperately waiting for the first gtx 980 review, but at the same time, wondering if this is a misprint, or clearance at a super low price?!

Link? It's probably legit, the zotac cards are quite cheap, and 980 is being released so yes, that price sounds good

well, seems daft to do anything this close to 980 launch, although if they turn out to be silly money, I'd kick myself if all the 780ti prices went sky high again.

The waiting game...

I bought ZOTAC 780 TI from scan a week ago it was £440 (£420 but P&P is expensive). This card will cost you exactly £400 now. Really happy I purchased it, because my ZOTAC in SLI works well, and in addition SLI 780 TI will perform better than 980. If you can't afford SLI just get a single GPU, it clocks at 1071 (checked in GPU-Z) even though the core clock says 941. Differences aren't going to be huge.

If the difference between 980 and 780 TI isn't going to be huge, then the prices will improve which means that some people will miss great opportunities. Also, when 980 comes out it will be expensive, and if the card is good and will slightly top 780 TI, then the price will stay up for quite some time.

If you look carefully at the scan website, all other 780 TI's are way more expensive. At least £80-100. ZOTAC gives you 5 year warranty, therefore it's worth getting it. Something happens to it, then you can replace it (I doubt if anything will happen to it if you'll treat it well). Moreover, customer support is very helpful and fast.

Prices of 780 (NOT TI) are very similar to ZOTAC 780 TI, so just let that sink in....

EDIT: I checked and scan has the cheapest ZOTAC 780 TI OC card on the web. Everywhere else it's about £470, so I'd hurry up and get another one. If I manage to get more money, I'm doing 3-way SLI and this build will last for years.

GTX 780 Ti prices are taking a nose dive. Newegg has an Asus GTX 780 Ti DirectCU OC for $560 after rebate. That must be in the neighborhood of what those cards on scan are going for.

had a few beers last night and pressed the button on a collection of bits to make an itx machine with this gpu...

fast forward to a blurry eyed awakening this morning and a quick call to scan to cancel the 780ti. hoping the uk price for a 980 isn't something daft like £600 :-p

looks like i'm going to gamble and hope the cheap zotacs are still available / that 780ti prices don't surge back to where they were a few months back...

Very little chance of those 780 Ti prices going back up by much, if at all.

I got 2x ZOTAC 780 TI and trust me, It works fantastically. Worth every penny. However, if you want to overclock it without a water block, you have to be aware that every card is different (I mean every card yes, even the ones in the same model, same brand). Some overclock better, some overclock worse. It's kind of a lottery.

well, yah, i wouldn't expect much of a 3rd party card with a mild overclock and a triple fan cooler and the fact it was 780 price territory, but that's why you're buying it at such a low price...

in some respects i wish i didn't know about the imminent launch of the 900 series, then i could be blissfully unaware, but the fact I do, i'm holding out for a card of similar cash that runs cooler and at 2/3 the power.

whens the unveiling by the way?

The Nvidia GAME24 event starts in a little less than 4 hours. The big reveal could happen at any time after that. I'm expecting full reviews to hit the web in a little less than 10 hours from now at 12:01 am California time. We'll see.

well, what can I say. so glad I cancelled the TI and managed to wait it out!

have one of these on order:

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-evga-gtx-980-supercl...(x16)-7010mhz-gddr5-gpu-1241mhz-boost-1342mhz-cores-2048-dp-dv

which seems to have gone up £20 since I ordered it at lunch time. can't wait to get this system together!

anyone else taken the plunge?

I bought 2x ZOTAC 780 TI a month ago and I'm perfectly fine with it. 980 is only 5% stronger than 780 TI (almost no noticeable difference 3-5 FPS in games). Obviously, with water block I can overclock it 1100Mhz + so yeah. I'd wait for prices of 780 TI to go down as much as possible and then buy 780 TI (preferably in SLI).
