there are almost no true 7.1 headsets out there they all use software to emulate it ( its pretty good emulation)

I know you said wired.... I use a Logitech G930. I would never go back. Even when it dies I can plug in the micro USB cord and keep gamimg.

I have used it without noticing it on my head for hours on end.

Just my $0.02 :)

My ears got hot with the G930 personally. I actually use a dedicated headphone and microphone setup now (Quality is WAY better) but if you are in the market for a headset then the G930 gets my 100% recommendation.

You said my recommendation D: so I must upvote you. I use them for my console and as well as my PC. They work excellent. I would not say they are clouded with bass, which is not true by any means.

I would also suggest the G930, I use this and it is a great headset and is in your price range.

I used to use a x12 turtle beach headset but they died in my recent house move. I couldn't believe how much better the G930 sounded and at around the same price.

The reason im skeptible about the g930 is because i heard it cuts in and out alot when your using them and i have a pair of sonys and they do that and im tired of it always cutting out. so does this ever cut out?
